Arena

Arena is the place for fair and competitive PvP. Choose a ready-made kit, enter a match, and fight solo or together with your team in battles ranging from 1v1 all the way up to 5v5.

Start a Match

Use /arena invite <player> to challenge someone. If you start the fight, you choose:

  • Team size: 1v1 up to 5v5
  • Arena: one arena or Random Arena
  • Fight rules: friendly or wager, Best of 1, 3, or 5, and random fill
  • Kit: Random Kit, a standard kit, or a saved custom kit

Before accepting, hover over the invite to see the team size, arena, region, and mode. Click Preview to see the mode, rounds, random fill, and kit.

Use /arena queue to look for an open match. You join with the rules and kit chosen when that match was created.

Fighting Players from Different Regions

You can fight players from any region. If everyone is from the same region, the fight takes place there. If players are from different regions, Arena chooses a region automatically. You do not need to choose one yourself.

Playing with Other Players

You can fight alone, bring a Party, or let Arena fill empty team spots.

  • Full party: bring your whole team
  • Some friends: bring part of your team and let other players fill the empty spots
  • Random fill off: only invited players and party members can join

Before anyone is ready, anyone already in the match can use /arena invite <player> to fill an open spot on their own team.

Choosing an Arena

All four current arenas are available to everyone: Ember Mesa, Flat?, Sunspire Dunes, and Verdant Field. Random Arena chooses one of the arenas the match can use.

Choosing a Kit

If you start the fight, you choose one kit for everyone. It cannot be changed after the invite or queue entry is created.

  • Random Kit: picks one of your saved custom kits or one of the four standard kits
  • Vanguard: a strong all-round fighter
  • Striker: fast and good at attacking
  • Alchemist: uses potions to control the fight
  • Bulwark: good at blocking damage and staying alive
  • Custom Kit: uses one of your saved kits

Random Kit is chosen when the invite or queue entry is created, and everyone can see the chosen kit in the match details.

Use /arena kit to manage saved kits. A custom kit can use up to 36 slots, including four slots for a full armor set.

Saving Your Settings

Use /arena settings to save friendly or wager, Best of 1, 3, or 5, random fill, and your kit. You choose the team size and arena again each time.

Saved changes only apply to new invites and queue entries.

Wagers

Wagers are only available in 1v1 fights. You and your opponent can each offer up to 20 items or Digital Goods. You both need to agree before the fight begins, and you must agree again if either offer changes.

The winner receives both offers. Wager items that do not fit are stored safely in /overflow. If the match is cancelled or the server stops, both offers are returned.

Getting Ready

Use /arena ready when your team and setup are complete. Arena moves you to your starting spot and keeps you still. The 20-second countdown begins after everyone is ready.

Your normal inventory is kept safe and replaced by the chosen kit. You can arrange your hotbar during the countdown. Potion effects, flying, and other special powers are paused to keep the fight fair, then restored afterward.

How a Fight Works

A match can be Best of 1, Best of 3, or Best of 5. You need to win 1, 2, or 3 rounds to win the match.

Your team loses a round when nobody on your team is left. If you are eliminated, you can watch the rest of the round. Leaving during a fight takes you out, but your team can continue while a teammate is still fighting. Leaving before the fight starts cancels the match.

Between rounds, everyone returns to their starting spot for another 20-second countdown. When the match ends, you get your normal items and previous location back.
